Statement of Assurance for Public Textbook and

Instructional Materials Incentive Program

 

Education Code 60119 requires that the governing board of a school district shall take the following action:           

 

The governing board shall hold a public hearing and make a determination as to whether each pupil in each school in the district has or will have, prior to the end of the fiscal year, sufficient textbooks, or instructional materials, or both;  and shall adopt a resolution disclosing the determination.

 

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

A public hearing determining if students have or will have sufficient textbooks 
will be held during the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees 

on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 7:20 p.m.

 

The meeting will be held in person at the District Office located at 375 Reina del Mar, Pacifica, CA and can also be attended virtually via Zoom using this LINK.  Information regarding the meeting can be found at www.pacificasd.org under the Governing Board Meetings Section on the homepage.

Notice of Public Hearing - LCAP and Budget

A public hearing to solicit the recommendations and comments of members of the public regarding the specific actions and expenditures proposed to be included in the LCAP and District Budget, and Balances in Excess of Minimum Reserve Requirements will be held during the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  The meeting will be held at the District Office at 375 Reina del Mar, Pacifica.  The meeting agenda will be posted on the District website on Friday, May 27, 2022.  www.pacificasd.org

A copy of the LCAP, with the Budget Overview for Parents cover page, and the proposed budget will be available for public examination at the Pacifica School District, 375 Reina Del Mar Ave, Pacifica, CA 94044 from May 27, 2022 through June 1, 2022 between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and on the District website, www.pacificasd.org. Announcement of Provisional Appointment

Pacifica School District announces the Provisional Appointment of Nidhi Patel to the Pacifica School District Board of Trustees

At its August 19, 2021 Special Meeting of the Governing Board, the Pacifica School District Board of Trustees selected Ms. Nidhi Patel to fill the term of former Board member Jared Steele, who resigned as of June 30, 2021.  Ms. Patel was sworn in at the August 19, 2021 meeting and began her appointment immediately.

Ms. Patel is a former middle school teacher and has spent the last 10+ years in technology leading strategy and operations at HP, Samsung, Apple and currently leads a global sales vertical at Logitech. She has a BA and MBA from The University of Chicago and is also on the path to earn her Ed.D. and CBO Certification.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the district and learners of my community. I look forward to hearing from and learning from the community as we support continued improvement in achievement and outcomes."

The term for this appointment to the Board of Trustees will end in December 2022. Unless a petition calling for a special election pursuant to Education Code § 5091 is filed in the office of the County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of this provisional appointment, appointment shall be effective through the above stated date.

Board of Trustees Vacancy

August 19, 2021

Jared Steele announced his resignation to the Board of Trustees as he moved out of state to attend graduate school. The position is currently open. The Board of Trustees intend to make a provisional appointment to fill the vacancy. A provisional appointment allows the Trustees to appoint a replacement through a process until the next election, which is November of 2022.  We plan to transition from virtual to in-person meetings in October.  

Interested persons may obtain a candidate packet on our District website by clicking 
here. The deadline for submitting the packet to the Board of Trustees is August 16 at the end of the day. You may submit the Candidate Information Sheet to the District office at 375 Reina Del Mar Ave., Pacifica or to kalves@pacificasd.org.  (Information from your application will be published with the agenda with your address, phone number redacted.)  

Candidate packets will be reviewed and an invitation will be extended to a smaller number of candidates to participate in the interview process. The interviews and appointment will take place in a public meeting on August 19th at 6:00 PM.  The interviews will be held virtually.
