Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Information

Kindergarten

If you have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2025, your child is eligible to attend Kindergarten in fall 2025. 
Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at Cabrillo School, Ocean Shore School, Ortega School, Sunset Ridge School and Vallemar School,
as well as the Pacifica School District Office located at 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. Sibling/Priority lottery cards (green) are due back to the
District Office no later than 12 noon on February 3, 2025. New Kinder lottery cards (blue) are due back to the District Office no later
than 4:30pm on February 5, 2025.
 

Transitional Kindergarten

If your child’s date of birth falls between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021, your child qualifies for the Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
program offered at Cabrillo, Ortega, Sunset Ridge and Vallemar Schools in fall 2025.

You must reside within Pacifica School District boundaries to participate in the lottery.
Parents are encouraged to attend school tours to get a better understanding of each school’s program, but it is not mandatory. 

If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available for any given site, a lottery for the available spaces for that site will be held. 
If a drawing is necessary, it will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Pacifica School District.
Lottery results will be posted near the front entrance of the District Office by 6 pm on February 7, 2025.
